Those looking for where the party is nonstop, go straight to the Village! If you’re looking for a less crowded way to watch the parade, I recommend taking yourself to the northern areas of the march (anything above Madison Square Park) which tends to be less crowded. The march on June 28 th, which follows a lavender painted line, starts at 36 th street at Fifth Avenue and makes its way down to the West Village – the birthplace of the modern gay rights movement. But don’t get me wrong it’s still one hell of a party out on the streets! So get out there and enjoy it. Now, the NYC Gay Pride Parade is much more than just a march! The festivities that lead up to the march, and the march itself, commemorate the Stonewall riots, which launched the gay-rights movement. No matter who you are, it’s time to celebrate equality here at the annual NYC Gay Pride Parade March! The official march, which culminates the month long celebration of Gay Pride, will take place June 28 th.
